The 00/01season produced far too many blue-sky days and the prevailing wind seems to have changed from Southwest to North East, oh for some good old-fashioned grey sky southerlies.
The Dun hatches started later this season. The first good hatch occurring in mid December. It was not a good Dun season due to all those blue skies and stiff Easterly winds
Late Summer and Autumn turned
on some very good beetle fishing which compensated us somewhat for the poor
Dun fishing
From mid March to mid April produced
the most productive fishing for the entire season
For the statistically minded I have included some interesting stats on the 00-01 season

NOTES
(1)
Battleship is a very large red tag
(2)
O.B.E. is a parachute Emerger,
(3)
Black O.B.E's and Black Parachutes are very similar, so if we add
their catch together they would share top billing with Guide tags.
Guide Tags and Battleships knocked the Brown Wolf from its top perch this
season due obviously to the lack of good dun days.
The Green Machine reigned supreme as the best
wet fly and unlike last season, wet flies took more fish than dries.
Peter Rollins came down armed with some small
beetle flies which he had purchased and they performed rather well so we
have named it the T.C. Beetle.
Our total catch was down about 150 from last
season so look out for this coming season, we are out to make serious amends.
